Tom has been a secondary school teacher for almost two decades, working across a number of 11-14 and 11-16 schools in Leicestershire. He is currently Head of Geography at Brockington College, Enderby and has previously held pastoral and curriculum development roles at middle and senior level. Tom is passionate about improving teaching and learning for all pupils and has worked to improve standards of teacher development. His principal areas of interest are the use of active learning, dual coding, improving educational outcomes for boys and increasing the understanding of the science of how children learn among educators.

Tom is also a  Managing Director of a limited company providing healthcare services in Leicestershire.

As a Geography teacher, Tom seeks to inspire young people about the wonder of the natural world and the impact of human activity, including the core issues of ecosystems and climate change.
