Gladiators Ready - Pupils Ready

What excitement there was when STEEL from Gladiators came to spend the day with us in April.

The PTFA very kindly organised the visit to help promote positive mental health and well-being. Zack was an inspirational visitor who was amazing with all of the children and staff. He did a whole school workshop where he talked about what he was like as a child, what inspired him to become a Gladiator and how he prepares to concentrate before his challenges. He then went to every classroom to have class photos and to answer questions which the children had prepared. There were some great questions and he answered them honestly. Did you know that he is from Leicester, that he used to play for The Leicester Tigers development squad, he was Britain's fittest man, did cross fit and that his favourite food is pizza! Steel talked about the importance of believing in yourself and your dreams and focussing on the 'glimmers' - he really gave us lots to think about and reiterated our motto of 'be the best version of yourself that you can be.' There were foam fingers aplenty and a few water bottle for all of the children. We can't thank the PTFA and Zack himself for what was definitely the highlight of the year.
