Geography

Children start school with an understanding of where their house is located on their street and where they live in relation to family members and family friends.

As they start their educational journey we want them to build upon this knowledge about where they live in their locality and the wider world. Alongside this we would like them to develop their geographical skills, enquiry and vocabulary so that by the time they enter the world as an adult they have the knowledge of both the human and physical features of places in the world that might then inform their choices of the places that they want to travel to and where they want to live.

They can apply the skills they have learnt to travel to different places around their locality and further afield so that they are able to experience the wonderful places that this world has to offer first hand, both through work and leisure.
