Music

At The Meadow, we aim to ensure that all pupils:

  • Perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians
  • Learn to sing and to use their voices, to create and compose music on their own and with others, have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument, use technology appropriately and have the opportunity to progress to the next level of musical excellence

  • Understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated, including through the inter-related dimensions: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations.

We have great fun at The Meadow with music. Below are some images and videos from recent enrichment days!

We had a great day with the Sons of Pitches - an acapella group who spent the day teaching us how to use our voices to create music. They then treated us to an evening concert of their greatest hits! Click on the pictures below for more information:

We had a music celebration day too where we experienced all different types of music from around the world! We dressed up as our favourite musicians and demonstrated our own musical skills.

We even had visits from ex pupils who have chosen music as a career. They were able to demonstrate their skills and talk about the jobs they do now.
